200 miles. 13.1 mpg Hoping it gets a litter better after a few more hundred. Does this sound about right?

shoo! Were you stompin on the gas? I didn't pay much attention to mine the first few months, but typically I average 18-19 in mostly around town driving. Usually around 20 on a highway trip, but even broke 22 on a 300 mile round trip this past spring.

Consistently getting 21.5-22. Stay off that skinny pedal if you want mpg's and nothing over 70mph. A toaster has beter aerodynamics

I was able to get 21.5 loaded with gear and with this giant roof rack by keeping it under 70.

On the way back I was going 75+ and still got around 16-17.

13.1 seems unusually low. I've never been below 15, even towing.

    It has to get better.

What kind of driving do you do? City/HWY, cruising speed?

13 mpg sucks balls. I'm consistently getting over 19 mpg with a 50/50 mix of highway and city streets. If you want an accurate estimate, log each fillup on fuelly.com.

Definitely agree with others recommending you keep it at 70 mph or under on the freeway. It also helps to not try to win every race to the next red light.

    Nothing yet. Just wait.
I've had my 5th Gen. for three months now. Consistently at 19.X when in town. Last weekend we took it on a short road trip, 4 hrs. each way. I got up to 22 mpg on the highway, even going over 70 mph over the continental divide.

I typically get 18-20 going 80 on a nice North Dakota day. If I tow a boat, I get about 15.

18-19 mpg here... try resetting the mode and see where you go from there...

I double check the computer with my calculator and they’re usually within a couple tenths of an MPG of each other. The driver has a huge effect on MPG. I get 20-21 mostly in stop and go freeway commuter traffic. When my wife drove it 750 miles on a weekend trip to get grandkids, she only got 17-18 (traveling 75-80 on the interstate). Wind resistance increases with the square of the speed (especially the the “barn door” aerodynamics of the T4R). If you’re in heavy traffic, keep a lot of following distance between you and the car ahead. This will allow you to keep rolling at idle. Use light braking to slowly use up your following distance. It takes a lot of energy to accelerate, so the less you do it, the better MPG you will get. The ECO light is your friendly feedback to help you train your foot. If you do the math, staying right on the tail of the car ahead of you will only gain you a few seconds in your trip. Kick back and listen to your favorite tunes.

First 1000 miles. Mixed highway/city/dirt roads and seeing between 18-19 hand calculated. Trucks has been steadily reading 19.1 avg.

I agree with everything you said I travel highway everyday for work. When you "pace yourself" between the car in front of you there's always some a$$ behind you that gets pissed and needs to pass just to gain that extra 1 minute arrival time. Everyone just needs to chill more these days.

This sounds bassackwards, but follow a big rig or bus in freeway traffic. They’re pros at conserving fuel (at 4-5 MPG, they have to). It’s way more efficient to keep 80,000 lbs of vehicle moving at a constant speed than starting and stopping. They also have a birdseye view of conditions ahead so they can better “predict the future” and adjust speed accordingly in order to maintain a more constant speed. 9 times out of 10, if you pass a rig in heavy traffic and do the accelerate, decelerate, stop, go, jackrabbit thing, thinking your going faster, that “turtle” rig will probably pass you in a couple of miles.
