My e-brake was working fine when new (now at 10k miles). It felt "normal". A few weeks back I was parking daily on a slope. And at least 3 or 4 times, I'd forget the e-brake was set and I'd just start to drive off.

I'd realize my mistake within a split second, obviously. It never moved more than an inch or two. But I've noticed that ever since, I have to push the brake further to get it to lock.

But more notably, it doesn't seem to lock up "on the spot" anymore. When I set the e-brake on an uphill slope, it still rolls back a couple inches and seems to rest on the parking pall (I think that's what it's called).

I can tell that the brake is providing some resistance, but it used to lock "on the spot" and never roll back at all after being set. And now it seems to not hold as tightly.

Is this something that can be adjusted? Not overly concerned. Between the brake and being in park, I don't think the truck is gonna move. But I like the security of knowing the brake is holding the truck on a slope and not the parking pall.

Not sure how our T4R are equipped.
My '04 F250 with disk brakes uses the inside of the rotor as a "drum" brake.
Push the parking brake & pads push out from inside the rotor housing & hold the truck.
You may have snapped a cable, stretched it or I am completely wrong with the setup.
Sorry if I am wrong. This is the only knowledge I have on parking brakes.
Best of luck & keep us posted!
