Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum but not to off-road. I’m currently searching hard for a good 3rd gen. I’m seeing a few that look in really good shape but with high mileage ( 200k-280k). I understand you're better off the lower mileage you can get but I also understand it’s a 20 year old vehicle. Should I be afraid or stay away from that high of mileage on these 4 runners?

Impossible to answer depends how its been treated. I'd never touch one with miles like that but then again I'm challenged by which end of the Screwdriver to hold. I always just used to do my own oil and I'm even getting away from that now. I'm at a point in life I like new(er) and I just worry about keeping my washer fluid filled. :D

LEDs all around, otherwise bone stock.
Just remember you're looking at Toyotas not Kias. That said you have to know the vehicle and maintenance. I've had mine 12 years and I've learned alot. Know where problems develop, have a mechanic look at it. Lots of videos on YouTube on them.

If you'd asked me 12 years ago I'd say no way over 200000, but I plan on driving mine until a minimum of 200000. I'm at 140000 and it STILL drives the way I bought it. Amazing. Find the passionate owners who know their vehicle top to bottom.
