Okay. Long story short check engine light came on. I took it to toyota dealership and preformed a System scan. The following codes came back. C1223 C1241 C1253. They summerized it all up and said it all is going to cost 1500 to fix all of this. Should i allow the dealership to fix this or can i do it myself. I really dont wanna have to pay 1500 for them to fix it.

    Google found these things:

    C1223 Brake light switch
    C1241 Low battery voltage
C1253 ABS inlet valve coil LR circuit short to ground

Try replacing the brake light switch, $15, 10 minute job. See if the codes clear.

If still codes, remove the battery positive cable and touch it to the negative post, then wait 5 minutes. Reconnect the positive cable and see if the codes clear.

If still codes, buy a new battery. See if the codes clear.

While you're at it, for good measure, be sure your gas cap is tight - three clicks.
