I just got a dealer down to 30500 on a 2018 sr5 w 32k miles. However, now I’m wondering if it’d be better just to opt in for a 2019 sr5 if I can get the right price.

The 2018 was a rental/lease and got most of its miles w them. I’ve read it can be hit or miss w prior rentals depending on if it gained mostly highway miles or in-city. I don’t like the ambiguity of not knowing its prior history.

Is the 2018 a good deal? Too risky? Thoughts? What would everyone consider a good price for a ‘19 basic model?

Well, I was in this same dilemma when I was looking.... used or new... I am not a used kid of guy and finally convinced myself that the price of used vs. new was too close and went new. No regerts! :)

I did this same thing. Ended up getting a 2018 SR5 Premium 4x4 for $34,000 new. That extra money spent was worth knowing I wasn't buying someone elses problems.

32 k miles is nothing really but I'd opt for new because a base model 19 can be had under 35k plus who doesn't like to be the original owner !

I got a new 2019 TRD OR for $36K out the door. I don't see why you couldn't get an SR5 for around $31-32K.

I would personally never buy a rental vehicle.

I had a 2018 T4R rental and it was beat to hell. I am sure before they sell it, they will clean it up and make it look pretty, but you can tell she's had a rough life.

I have driven a rental car before:mudding:, so I would buy new if you can afford it.

In January I was looking at a 2015 SR5 Premium with 40k miles on it for just under $30k. Then another dealer put their two SR5 Premium loaners up for sale. For less than $6k more I got something with only 3100 miles on it and 3 years newer and all but 6 months of the warranty. If you can afford it go with the one with less miles and more warranty.

Wow … good to see the 4runner handled the abuse. I felt sad watching that though, what a bunch of clowns. Bad karma is destined to follow all involved.

The way I treat rentals I'd pass on one.
