If you do the hella, run the system as directed with the relay. I put them in my taco and wired them in direct with the factory current and they were no louder.

I went through the same thing when I still had my 1st gen 4Runner. I was looking into Hella's but although they were loud, I found that they had a higher pitched, tinny sound. (Kinda hard to explain). I ended up using 2 x Fiamm horns, one low and one high tone. Completely plug and play. Though the Hella's look nicer, the Fiamms had the exact sound I was looking for. I believe there are sound bites as well you can check out.

I believe they were the AM80/Freeway Blaster series. They should look exactly the same as the stock ones. I bought a high and low tone. Look for the soundbites as well if you can find them.

I'm old school.... I just put an "ooga" horn on my daily Corolla. I am looking at the 3 and 5 trumpet HornBlasters for my truck and 4r. I want ears to bleed!
