Beyond frustrated today.. i went to a ladys house to set some interior doors for her. I live on Kauai and some of the driveways are.... we will say "steep" i got down to the bottom and changed to 4low and got up without a problem. Went inside and finished my work but when i tried to leave i heard a " click " and then nothing. Tried to jump it, nothing. I look down and notice that my gear shifter light is stuck on Reverse. So i take apart the console and everything looks ok. I go to check the fuses and tried pulling the 140 alternator amp fuse.... WHY IN THE F*$% did they put screws in the fuse?!?!?!?@?@? I finally got the fuse out and go to the parts store where they tell me it is a Dealer only item... today is Sunday. Mothers day. I hate my life... hate Toyota. Can anyone give me some insight on why my truck would not start??

    Maybe 4WD actuator is stuck?
    May need disassemble and solder.

Not sure why won't start and brake lights out tho. Several things must be going on.

Also consider PNP sensor or shifter cable if reverse is still an issue. Would affect rear tail lights.

I have thought it could be something like that. About 5 days ago I went to the beach and when I got home I took a pressure washer and got all the sand, mud and dirt off the under carriage. I could have knocked something loose. I am going to the dealership tomorrow to get alt fuse and see what happens

Also before you have to dealer replace the shifter cable, you or they should lube it. Happened to me as well, couldnt get into drive after said head gasket repair. The cable is like $250 (plus install) at all outlets. Lube corrected that issue.
