What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Ya know I put the TRD radiator cap on and I swear the motor runs smoother. I don't know what it is? Maybe running at a higher over all temp helps this motor or maybe I'm insane?? Could be both.

 

In the first post it looks like you have an additional cover with a handle over the storage. What is that? Also. I’m assuming they do, but do the seat go back up? .... And a cut list for the wood would be appreciated. Lol

 

First mod on the new runner at four days old haha. RAV4 blind spot mirrors to help my GF.

No. I meant that my tail light housing looked fine till you showed me this mod!

 

It’s just the Toyota retractable cargo cover. Yes the seat go back up without any issue. Lol I’ll take some measurements and make a list when I can.

 

What kinda material is that and where’d ya get it? :fingerscrossed: it’s aluminum and sold at Lowe’s

 

Is this a direct swap or are there any other parts needed?

 

I would like to share my experience. Direct swap, zero modifications needed. I broke a tab off the original one taking it off, who cares, I won’t need it again anyways. I can also say the defroster works on the spot too, this one actually completely defrosts before the passenger side even starts to get going!

 

Direct swap and super easy. I used a suction cup to carefully pry the originals out of the clips and just press the new ones in. There is a wire harness as well for the heating element

 

Thats awesome I kind of got used to the BSM in the 17 Taco I will look into this as well but my wallet is draining faster than ever....

 

Where did you get the plug for your hose connector? I've wanted one forever...

Edited: oops, looks like I'm posting in the 5th gen forum. I think what brought me here was searching for iDatalink Maestro installs.

One of my tie rod end boots was ruptured so I swapped them both out. Everything else looks good under there. 134,000 "civilian" miles of road trips and getting groceries. No offroad use because lol 2 wheel drive

 

Installed my kodiak roof rails and thule cargo carrier, although the carrier is coming off and I will be Installing a new rack mounted bike carrier for my new bike in picking up tomorrow .

 

$50 for the carrier

 

I wish bud, it's my brother in laws, he paid 700 new, I can borrow it whenever I like which is pretty cool of him.

 

I'm joking! Been looking for some older ones but they are still expensive unless they have something wrong with them.

Exactly what i did. here is my parts order from Dobinsons. Kit was only just over $1000 shipped. The front nose dive was heavily eliminated and the body roll is way better and the overall ride quality is much better. I highly recommend
plus for like $90 they build the front coil so its ready for install. I installed myself and was pretty easy. was about a 3 hour or so job if your mechanically inclined
