    Hey All

Im from northern IL. My wife and I want to try overlanding. We camp in WI, IL, MI etc. We are undecided on which truck. It would be a daily driver.
Short list 4runner, Tundra, Land Cruiser and maybe a F150

Of the options 4Runner! Haha. In all seriousness though the land cruiser would be way to nice for me to want to get dirty. The others are way too big. Now if you want a lot of space then the other options may be better. Anyway welcome

    Welcome,
I would imagine that most on 4runners.com will be biased. Lol
Last month we got ours & we are in love with it.
As stated above. The land cruiser would be great. But the cost is also.
I concur with Daniel about size also. The T4R is a great size, wheelbase & approach angles to make it the only choice for me a second time!
    Phew... sorry.

    Thank guys

    Looked at a 2007 4runner V8 today
    70k miles asking $16K Only 70,000 miles
I heard a droning sound from right rear, not sure what it was? Very rusty underneath having toyota dealership look at it on monday sm. Illnois truck. The paint in good shape. What else should I look for?

    Welcome!

Didn't see any mention of it but I would go with the Honda Fit with CVT trans.

And I personally would walk away from that v8 if it has a lot of rust. There is no frame recall on the 4runner frames so you will have no recourse when the frame falls apart.

I checked the undercarriage on the V8 07 4runner today. The rust was mainly on the rear axle and suspension. It may need to be replaced. Flaking rust when I hit it with a hammer. Had 70K miles and Acura dealer wanted 16k here in the Chicago area

4Runner totally!! We looked at the Tundra... too big, we also looked at the F150... meh... not us... and Land Cruiser... Just a bit outside... of our budget.... Good luck with your decision...
