I’m thinking this ceramic coating is something I need to have done to my wife’s 4R immediately while it’s still new. I’m currently in the process of buffing her three year old car so we can sell it. Ugh no fun!

Well, I did it. I traded my Tacoma for a new SR5 for the wife and took the TRD ORP. Had a great weekend in it at Land Between the Lakes for my son's Boy Scout crossover ceremony. The final straw for the trade came when there was another recall for the TSS and they were going to have to replace the entire back window. Found my wife exactly what she was wanting and now I can start with this one. Thanks to @Backslider for the advice on modifications, and know there will be more questions coming in the future. This was the first time taking my son camping, and shockingly he loved it! So now I have to get our own camping gear and truck stuff, the wallet will hate it! First on the list will be tires, the stockers did ok on the roads to camp, but having something more would have made the ride more fun

 

I've been to DPG a bunch for training. May be out there next month, if so I'll look you up. She had a 15 MGM SR5 Premium that we traded for the ORP, she liked it and wanted the same thing so that's what she got. Spent yesterday cleaning the neighbors tent, the truck and cutting grass. Was in Indiana at a training event and left early for the camp out. I like the truck better dirty, wish I wouldn't have washed it

 

My bad, I traded the TACO on a new SR5 for her, and I'm driving the ORP. Where at in KY? I live about as close as you can get to it.

 

Damn, I'll be in DPG like 17-20 JUN. Just leave the keys somewhere I can find them and we'll call it good

I just did the exact same kit a few days ago. It’s easy breasy....

 

A few days ago I noticed what looked like a rock chip in my fog light (turned out to be a bug splatter) and it got me thinking of ways to protect them from future damage. Searching around the web I landed on the LaminX lamination which I had never heard of but quickly discovered a lot of people use them.

The lamination arrived today and they couldn't have been easier to install. I watched a few YouTube videos and immediately discovered a handful of videos that butchered the install process which left them with folds and bubbles. The instructions are perfectly clear and extremely simple to follow and in doing so I ended up with a perfect fit.

They serve the purpose of protection, but also look awesome. Hopefully they withstand the test of time.

Wheelers offroad . I will try to take a bunch of pics etc and I will look through the threads to see if anyone has done a step by step, if not, I may write one up. Before and after for sure!

What did the full coating cost you (if you don't mind sharing)?

 

I have an off brand on mine, which still turned out pretty nice, might be sliiiiiightly lighter yellow color.
But what really made it nice was when I installed yellow LEDs in the fogs. LOVE the look of the yellow fogs now.
I put the same yellow film on my BRZs fog lights, but, they are white LEDs and its a bit green when they are on.
I wonder if the real LaminX stuff stays yellow with a white LED behind it ?

 

I need to install mine, it's been sitting in the garage for a few months lol

 

As far as videos online go the LaminX does appear to have a nice yellow tint with white LEDs. I haven't had a chance to try mine yet.

 

@SLoTH_XVX I got a deal 720.00 to ceramic coat the whole 4runner.

 

They cut the light output but I love the look in mine

 

Kinda like posting your phone #.... there's just some info that I'm not comfy putting out there for all to see/abuse. I'ld like to think that this forum is safe... which it probably is.... but there are plenty of people out there looking for the smallest opening into personal data.
