Engine ticking/tapping noise

hello gents, I’ve recently had an idle problem. Took it to the mechanic and they diagnosed it with valve covers needing replacement and my oil switch. Got the valve coveres replaced picked it up and it ran great. Fast forward about 2 hours later, commuting to work. I pulled up to a stop light and she stalled, thought that was totally abnormal and I continued to drive. Later that day I pulled up to another stop light and I noticed a awful tapping/ ticking noise coming from the top end driver side. Pulled over and had it towed. If any of y’all have an idea as to what it could be that would be great!

 

At this point doesn’t matter the shop had it apart now it has issues it’s their problem to fix and pay for at this point.
