Anyone here running a rooftop tent on stock suspension with 275/70/17s? My CVT Mt Rainier weighs in at 150lbs and when it was on the Tacoma that little bit of weight played heck on the leafs. I realize it will have an impact on the 4Runner also, but was wondering if it would cause rubbing with that tire size. I plan on putting a mild/overlanding lift on it after the summer , but it has to wait. The tires and new rack have to go on immediately due to some upcoming camping. Thanks in advance.

Prinsu, Blacked-out taillights, tinted fronts, BudBuilt Sliders, BudBuilt Skids, OME lift, 275/70/17 KO2's, LED interior, C4 Fab Diff Skid, Dvr Grab Handle, AnyTime Backup Camera, Badge Overlays, Wet Okole Covers
We have not done our lift yet etc so we are stock on the 275/70/17 KO2's. Went camping last weekend, Two adults, Two kids, RTT, BIG Ice Chest on a hitch mounted basket, Box of wood and WAY to much gear for a weekend trip. Our Runner was DEFINATELY feeling it haha. Sitting a little low (especially in the back end). We did not have any rubbing issues but you could tell everything was there for sure. Tires never touched anything with the driving we did. Disclaimer, We did not do any "Real" trails etc. just more logging type roads.

Thanks for the info, Chris. That sounds similar to the setup I’ll be running this summer less one kiddo and the big cooler. We won’t be doing any rock crawling or extreme wheeling...just some dusty roads and the like.

Anybody else? About to pull the trigger on the Falken Wildpeak AT3W’s. I know there’s no sure bet. Just thought someone here would be running a rtt on stock suspension with this size tire. Thanks.

150 lbs up high will have some effect, it’ll make it lean more. But 150 lbs is like having an extra passenger in back, it’s fine.
