I kinda get it. I am not a fan of getting down on my knees to make sure I hook up right but going from a 3rd gen taco to my 4Buggy I want something more like the taco’s!

My camper harness came disconnected 2 times the first time we took it out, I had no idea I had no brakes or lights until I stopped for a rest/safety check. I zip tied the plug in place till I got home to complete this mod, and it works like a dream. I got the bracket from Etrailer.com for about $7-8, I purchased 1” spacers and 1 1/2” bolts and used the factory mount holes. There is just enough slack in the harness after taking one wire clamp off the frame.

I think if I moved the plug from the stock location I would have to put it in the bumper. If I did it like you did yours it would simply be ripped off the vehicle while off road. The stock location prevents this but I agree what a pia to get to. I tow a lot. So in the bumper close to the license plate would be the best solution for me

I don’t take mine off-roading, it was purpose bought for tt pulling.
If ur off roading and in the event it takes off the connector, ur spare tire and hitch would prolly also be damaged...just my thoughts.

Can you provide the part number for the bracket on the Etrailer site? Thanks.

Wrangler Duratracs, center console organizer & trav all 1576 dog divider for the rear. Xpel wrap with ceramic coating. 20% tint on front windows. TRD intake. TRD oil cap Plus parts on shelf & a wish list.
I will only state that the salesman for our T4R said it is up high to prevent water intrusion and corrosion.
I have had a factory trailer connector (wiring) rust & needed a new $200 harness available only from Ford.
Maybe just take it off in the winter if you live in a salty area.
