Took Wifey's brandy new (about 350 miles on the clock) ToyRunner out onto my hayfield. Nice, firm and dry with about 10 acres of room to stand on the loud pedal.

I put it in 4L and punched the A-trac button. I stomped on it in D and it shifted gears way too soon bogging it down somewhat. I put it in manual shift mode and soon got the hang of shifting to keep it in the fat part of the power band. That little sucker will scoot!

Why would you step on it hard in 4l?

My wife’s clicked over 170 miles when I was with her earlier. She picked it up Saturday with 4 miles on it. She made me go out and detail it again this morning before she left to take our oldest son to the Dr today. She’s insane OCD with cleanliness! I’ve tried to get her to take hers out through our big field but she wants no part of it. Ordered the OME lift for it today with 2 day shipping. She’s hoping I’ll have it lifted and sitting on 20’s and BFG k02 by Saturday evening. Lol

But the wifey did see me take my Super Duty down our logging road a couple months ago and come back with the entire front end caved in and the passenger’s side smashed in from the back door all the way to the tail gate.

I actually managed to baby the truck for the first 1K as recommended. I finally floored it on my way to Florida and was pleasantly surprised! You definitely feel the extra power over the single VVTI 1GR in the Tacoma.

I still miss the torque of my '03 V8 sometimes, but I'm pretty happy overall.

Can't wait to get mine off road!

I’d really rather not share pics. I already feel like an idiot. Ummmmmm..... drinking way too much beer that particular day and decided to do some mudding back in our woods(I never left my property). So I was heading to one area of our property and driving down an old logging road and giving it hell and slid right into a large patch of trees. One large tree done in the hood, grill, and bumper, and smaller trees and a fence post took out pretty much the entire side. The wifey was pissed. Probably more so because I just brushed it off as a fun event. Sure it cost a little money to fix, but I always need shop projects anyways lol.

Wouldn’t be the first time either. In 2007 I was mudding in my brand new F150 and took out the entire passenger side of the truck on a tree. Three times in a 2 month period! Haha

I think the lesson here is that Fords suck at off roading

I didn't pound the crap out of it. Just a few quick sprints to get the feel of it. Some short WOT bursts without wringing it out helps seat the rings..:burnrubber:

I got pretty good with the auto stick manually shifting my 2006 Charger. Now there's some V8 Torque.

    Those Chargers are pretty sweet!

Funny thing is, a lot of guys say to break in a motor by redlining them. Who knows what's right.

All I can say is I've got 8K on it now and it keeps getting better:cool:

Not a proponent of wringing out a new engine. Just the occasional brief WOT blast.

Long steady speeds are not good. Ours got a good break in crossing the Adirondacks on the way home from the dealer. I want to get another 1000 miles or so on it before I hook it up to my 24' travel trailer.

This is why I was in a hurry to get mine in January. I drove to Florida in February and wanted to get some miles on it before driving 1400 miles at pretty much the same speed the whole way.

    Great road trip vehicle

Wifey came into the house last night ad said "WHERE DID YOU TAKE "MY" CAR?"

After I told her that I just took it out in the dry parts of the hayfield, she said. "I bet you didn't think I would notice did you"?
