Just picked up this bad boy yesterday with 211k on the clock, step one is to get rid of the hella noisy tires and see if I also need wheel bearings!IMG_20190414_134341.jpg IMG_20190414_212602.jpg

Welcome. Mich Defenders are expensive up front. But you make up for it on the far end. It's not unheard of to run them for 90k miles. And they maintain traction until the end.

My last set had 70% tread life left at 40k miles (then I sold them on Craigslist for $350 and replaced them with a bigger size of the same tire).

Extremely quiet, low rolling resistance. Unparalleled wet/snow traction, aside from going to a dedicated snow tire.

If you're mostly on blacktop, it's hands down the best tire you can buy for these trucks. And they can handle off road just fine.

If you're rock climbing a lot, find something with a stiffer sidewall, although they'll do fine in a pinch. But snow, ice, mud, gravel, cornfields, pastures, forest service roads, wet roads, you can't beat them.

And tbh they look fine with white letters on the inside. A nice flat black crown Vic look. A little Duragloss 253 and they look fabulous. A 265-70-17 is a big tire.

    (And I'm a big fan)
