First trip to Colorado with our T4R!

    Wrangler Duratracs, center console organizer & trav all 1576 dog divider for the rear. Xpel wrap with ceramic coating. 20% tint on front windows. TRD intake. TRD oil cap Plus parts on shelf & a wish list.
    In early September the wife, dog & I will be taking a trip to Colorado Springs, Colorado.
    Last year was Denver, but with an Infiniti.
    I am looking for an easy & beginner trail to get my wife into & help her get the bug! Otherwise I am set with a TRD off road that will only see snow covered concrete (not what I want out of this highly capable vehicle).
    I doubt I will have a trail mate so recovery is an issue. No winch or aftermarket (hopefully slides at least) protection by then.
    Anyone around the Colorado Springs area or who knows the area...
    Also, as stated we have a dog & he loves water. I have no problem with water crossings. He would love them!
    I know I am asking a lot. It is our yearly anniversary trip & I want her to truly enjoy her new T4R !

    Dude. There's so many places and trails here in CO to have fun. Plenty of opportunity to get "off road" and not give your passengers any reason whatsoever to feel uncomfortable. You have to seriously be trying to get yourself into trouble to actually get yourself into trouble. Pick up some forest service road maps and go explore. If you come across a trail that looks "questionable", turn around and find another route. The routes are near Infinite if you're a tent-er.

    I'm pretty sure there are a few you-tube videos of some trails near the area.... could probably get an idea at least of the level of difficulty.

    I have a question about funtreks.com. Very cool site!
    Is that a site that just shows trails?
    One of the descriptions talks about a lunch...
    I am just looking for light to moderate off roading. I don't want a guide. Plus, if we see a spot to stop, I would like to be able.

    Funtreks are a series of books, or other map data guides, not guided (manned) tours. I use them and they’re great, I’ve been able to pick out some trails to take the family on that are easy, but great scenery!
