Recommendations for spare tire, fuel can, and Jack external storage. My rig is brand new and my knowledge is limited so I’ll probably have to choose something that requires minimal fabrication. Thank you very much

Everything you mentioned spare, jack, etc is nicely stowed away now why re-create anything? Except for gas...

Probably to facilitate off road excursions. The spare move to the hatch area will help with ground clearance compared to the stock location and when the 4 is buried in, for example, mud it's very hard to get the spare off if it's under the vehicle. The jack referred to is most likely a high lift jack used for extraction or changing of tires in precarious situations. An then of course mounting of the gas can to allow more range while in the bush where there are no gas stations.

Thats my issue with the hitch mounts. That and half the cost of a nice rear bumper.

I think the one thing the Wilco offers over the others is the still functional receiver hitch. By functional I mean one you can tow with. Not as a recovery point. Think it’s rated to 7500lbs and 750lbs tongue weight

Gotcha. Yeah, the Wilco is def rated more than the 4R’s rated capacity.

I don’t think I would want any of the options though. I’m not overly impressed with them and would rather go for a full rear option with swing out.

Yeah the website is not good. I am sure they could get way more business with a revamp there.

I think I’m leaning more towards the Wilco than anything. I like the simplicity of the Detour but doesn’t give any room to grow. This is probably shallow but the bumper options just aren’t aesthetically pleasing to me. I really like the Hefty slimline number as well. Thoughts?

Absolutely true. I feel some of the time these small businesses purposefully have things like crap websites because they don't want to expand.

I went with the RIGd Ultra Swing because I like to bring bikes when we camp. It's AWESOME! It has the ability to carry all or just some of the things the OP posted. Made in the U.S., lifetime warranty and they're right down the street from me!
I added the Frontrunner Drop Down table to mine, that thing is super handy for my stove, beers or whatever. The table had a wood slide out extension but since it'd be in the elements I replaced it with a custom fit cutting board. So much better!

That is a big distance and would only look right if filled with rotopax. I do like how it has two receivers but the price is very high IMO.

Agreed the price is close to a basic level bumper with swing out.

I'll get one for you tomorrow.

It's not for everyone, but it fits my needs. As for the table getting dirty, who cares?? You're out in the the damn dirt not a mall parking lot. Everything is dirty.:D

What's the gap on the Detour one? Tried to find a clear picture of it but failed..

Fits so much tighter to the body. The others look weird hanging out way back there.

A Rotopax would fill that gap nicely.

LOL I'll tell ya what, I'd rather be able to stuff a mattress in that gigantic gap than have a spare tire swing-out that has no other use and looks like my 12 year old nephew made on the first day of metal shop.

    I kid I kid.... o_O

    BTW Not bashing it.

The Detours mount looks great but I will require a little space for storage. I’m really feeling the old fashioned NATO jerry cans which will require the gap. The hi lift will go under the mount. Does the spacing cause drivability issues or is it just a looks things?

I’m hoping it isn’t because it was the first suggestion but I’ve been favoring the Wilco gear. I’ve pieced together everything I think I’ll need and they just seem to make more sense. I’m honestly just dreading the expenditure. I’ve squirreled away a couple months worth of salary and hate to touch it lol. I need a higher paying job than working for Uncle Sam.
