Howdy. Got a 95 4runner...you got a problem with that? 2 bad trannys from two different places so I said dang it I'll go do it myself. I'm gonna ask some questions so I'll save that for a different place

2nd gen's are sick! People give them way too bad of a wrap. People always talk shit about how slow these 3.0's are. It's an SUV, not a race car. Everyone bitches about the head gaskets all the time. As long as they were taken care of during the recall campaign, they last for ever. Just don't over heat it. That's the case with any Toyota that has aluminum heads. You just need to make sure the fluids are good. No one ever says how strong the frame is, or how capable these are off road. The tailgate is sick, these trucks look sick, they have a good ride height stock, especially with 31's. What's even more sick is the owners manual says you can put 31's on stock gearing, that's cool. Let the haters hate, they can go f$+k themselves!

Yeah thanks everyone. So far I've put about 400 miles on it since I got the tranny in. Filled the coolant up and it's gone down about a gallon with no leaks seen. :( look like I'll do a headgasket this week. You're right as long as you keep your fluids good it shouldn't have happened. And they do look cool.
