with rear lifted i didnt want anything compressing too far before hitting the shitty hard stock bumpstops. so I went with one that is longer and more progressive in stiffness and softer when it hits instead of hitting the rock hard stockers.

Depends. If they're the same displacement as 1GR-FE, they might be too big:

I drive in a lot of bad winter weather (and what I used to justify getting something like 4Runner). What I personally find annoying, because it is reckless, is when drivers in lifted rigs on wide mud tires assume they are invincible in deep snow or ice. I regularly see these in the ditch waiting for a tow truck.

It's OK to make vanity purchases. People buy shit to make them look better and feel better all the time. Just don't criticize people who then lift the suspension and upgrade wheels/tires - it'd be the pot calling the proverbial kettle black.

Just look at what's used nowadays for airport taxis - Siennas and Highlanders, and most often hybrids. When durability and operating cost directly affect one's livelihood, they don't use 4Runners. Siennas and Highlanders can do the same dirt roads your low-slung Limited can do.

Yeah, mud tires are worthless on ice and packed snow. But, I see people run them all year in Wisconsin as well. Mine get swapped out for three Peak all-terrains in the fall.

The poster you quoted has had some, uh interesting takes I have seen that "binary" is probably the best compliment for him one could say.

Speaking of the Sienna, among Sienna drivers I have seen, most of them can probably get away with driving a smaller car but among certain circles of folks of certain income brackets and origin groups, the Sienna is a must as soon as the first child is born as to be ready to transport their 2.3 children as well as the grand or great-grandparents at the same time once a year in style. They won't be seen dead in anything else for those years. Once the kids are bigger they will trade the Sienna in for a Lexus RX or Tesla Model X.

It's certainly preferable to being a Toyota Kool-aid addict now suffering withdrawls because Toyota changed the Kool-aid formula.

Unfortunately I’m one who is putting my 23 Pro back to stock. Just what he said I follow 6th gen 4runner different sites on Facebook. I would say at least 90% of new 4runner owners all they post is about lifting it. They don’t even have barely any miles on there new vehicle.

I don't really get the logic of lifting a vehicle as soon as you get it. I knew I was going to off-road in my 4Runner, but I still waited a year before I did much modification. I did order the rock sliders right away because I knew I was going to want them and I got a kick back from the gap insurance on my previous loan that covered them.

I agree but there are so many post owners just bought them and they are lifting them right away.

That's pretty much exactly what TCCN said in the original video, try it out first before going nuts with lifts and suspension kits. But boy howdy that got some people hot and bothered. LOL.

A lot of it may be because it is a new model and people are trying to become an “influencer” by being some of the first to modify them.

What I see also about the lifting on Facebook a lot of owners will post what they did to lift there 4runner but so many post about asking the same question what did you do to lift it. Seems like so many do not use the search link.

I typically order everything i want, and have it sitting there so when my vehicle gets here, i can install everything and roll out on the first day of ownership with it "done"
This way when all the locals see it, its already done and not a build in progress.
I know what i want from the get-go, i allocate all those parts and the vehicle, and then assemble everything and roll out in a "done up" vehicle the first time anybody sees it.
Thats just the operation i run.

The most recent "build" was simple and took a very minimal amount of work. Slight lift, tires, wheels, mud flaps. To me this is all it needed to really look tough, ride great, and mog the neighbors.

Make nobody tell me say me I no go
    Make am
I go make am, me I go make am oh
Dey wait for my time oh
Na why I Dey grind oh
One day I go shine oh
    For life oh
    And I'm gon flex on
    My neighbors
    On my neighbors
    On my neighbors
On my neighbors (Fle Fle Fle Fle Fle Fle Fle)
    Flex on my neighbors
    On my neighbors
    On my neighbors
    On my neighbors

All that effort for a TRD sport with city bumpers and no rear locker? Whatever floats your boat I guess.

    yeah doc
    It’s a mall crawler special
It won’t ever get dirty or go off-road
It’s in the 98th percentile of 4runners that never go off-road.
My 4R is the utilitarian and it gets beat on and crawled thru woods and full throttle up muddy hills
It’s got dirty tires right now

    Don’t like the lines
    Plus I don’t own a hotel or a 7/11 and have 6 kids.
