    Just wanted to introduce myself.

    I'm a Tacoma owner since '06, and my son owns a '99 4Runner.

    He recently blew a head gasket and according to the mechanic 3 cylinders are low in compression... I thought the gasket had to be sound to check compression...

    Otherwise, the vehicle is in very good condition, little or no rust, front/rear bearings replaced, transmission regularly serviced, all synthetic fluids from (60k on), etc.

    Anyway, with 350k we're thinking about a remanufactured engine and would like to have any members' thoughts on a good source.
