Hello all, I have bought my first 4Runner (more detailed post on this incoming), and I’ve noticed it looks like the front wheels dust cap / grease cap is missing.

I just want to make sure I’m correct and understand implications before dropping $50 on the OEM part 43514-28010

Bit of context: the 4Runner I was interested in had larger custom rims that I didn’t not want, so I picked up some ORP rims off marketplace and powder coated them black, the dealership installed with new tires for me.

I’m going to plastidip the plastic octagonal wheel cap thing, but in the meantime I noticed that the back wheels have a black metal piece in the center and the front ones do not. I’ve identified this as the part listed above

    A) I should buy and install this, right?
    B) Does anything about this look not right to you?
    C) Do I have to take the wheel off to install? Or can I use the method shown in this video:

Your 2nd picture is of the rear axle. If your front grease/dust cap is missing, you would see the axle nut. No dust cap needed for the rear. You definitely need one for the front.

Doh, I posted this from memory after snapping the picture and got my front and back mixed up!

Thank you so much for correcting me! On to the rest of the things on my list...

That's the axle. What would a cap even cover?
