How many have done the metal oil filter mod?

    I replaced the higher standpipe in mine without disturbing the tabs in any way. There is a YouTube video that shows just how to do that. Very easy once you see it for yourself.

    Oh wow, that was almost five years ago that I did the swap. There is a way to get the standpipe out and in by just tilting it at an extreme angle.

    You would have to go through the threads here that talk about getting rid of the plastic housing and look at every post. I'm positive that I saw the YouTube link here, or possibly even on Tacomaworld.
