@bfrank099 - I think you can do this job. Get the cables and maybe just think of it as tune-up while you are there anyway. Watch a couple of videos and maybe get a helper or so and you can do it. Nothing more rewarding than working in your own vehicle to make sure it gets done right. Plan B, go to the shop :spending:.
P.S. Can you clear the codes with your reader? and see if it the rough idle goes away?

Your insurance company should cover that damage to your varmint eaten wiring.
Same happened to my 2014, Toyota fixed it, insurance sent a guy and they paid the invoice fully.

Check all coil and injector pack connectors are snapped in and vacuum hoses connected. Like other said. Check for rodent damage.

if youre down a cylinder, you can unplug the connector at the coil pack and see which one doesnt change the running. Thats the bad one.

I contacted the insurance company and put some stinky dryer sheets in there.with cover off. I use to put them in my motorcycles over winter to keep the critters out.
Thank you all for your help. I don't know what will happen next with insurance involved. I know that it will be at $500 for me because of the deductible

If you pay for it on your own, without insurance, it will more than likely eat up that 500.00 quickly.
    Diagnosis, parts and labor!

Luckily it looks like you only need to remove the upper intake manifold (the black plastic one) to get at it, and not have the touch the lower intake manifold (aluminum) that is buried deeper between the cylinder banks. This is under $50 in parts and supplies if you DIY:
    1. Since the wires are chewed off flush with the connector, buy 2-3 replacement pigtails like this: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=7988068&cc=3307198&pt=2577&jsn=568
    2. Buy a replacement intake manifold gasket like this: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=11490433&cc=3307198&pt=10394
    3. Loosen the hose clamp connecting the large intake pipe to the throttle body. You can leave the intake pipe in place.
    4. Unplug the throttle body electrical connector.
    5. Undo any hoses connecting to the manifold in the back and side.
    6. Remove the 10 or so nuts holding down the intake manifold and lift off the manifold together with the throttle body.
    7. Tape off the intake ports.
    8. Do your wire repair.

I would love to attempt this repair myself, but time is not on my side. I barely have time to cut the grass and trim bushes. It's jungle season in PA

I just wanted to say that I do appreciate you all inviting me into your group, and the responses to my issue. I'll be sticking around here for quite some time, who knows maybe I'll be able to help a new 5th gen owner someday.

Would be interesting to see what the shop estimate is for insurance.

Toyota charged my insurance $9000 for a full engine harness replacement. Their reasoning was it was too new (<2 years) for a repair.

Finally got her back from the shop. They originally quoted just over 5K for harness replacement, but my insurance guy spazzed out. Over 3k was labor cost! So they repaired the harness by soldering and heat shrinking.. $1,136. I had to pay $500......I purchased some peppermint bags and hope that doesn't happen again. I still don't know what rodent it was. squirrel chipmunk mouse. 20250824_150357.jpg

Wash your engine regularly and remove the cover to make it less hospitable for anything.

I spray the whole engine compartment down with Simple Green. Before doing so, I always place a plastic bag over the alternator as I don't want to cause a problem there. Spray everything down with the Simple Green, but don't let it dry. Give it two or three minutes to soak a bit while wetting areas again to prevent it from drying. Then rinse off with very low pressure water. Don't use a pressure washer or something because you don't want to get water in fuse boxes or other places that might cause problems. I do mine twice a year.

It's possible that using Simple Green may leave an odor that keeps varmints away. So far, I have never had problems with mice and such.

Very gentle please. I would just wipe things out instead of direct pressure washing. Look at the nut care car guy videos and has a decent method there.

Question, was the advice :argue: given in all the notes above helpful?

GEICO. He said that if the dealer can't give a very detailed description of why the labor is over 3k, then I may be stuck with paying more than my deductable. I know it sounds kinda shady. I just hope that repair was solid, and I have no issues.
