I tried giving them a haircut. But the trimmer cant get through the puppy fur. Did not work out so well but they match. I gave them a shower, they smelt like a wet squirrel, then they did zoomies on the king size comferter i laid out for them to chill on.

You guys losing your beloved pets are breaking my heart. All of us who love dogs have been there, and it sucks. I've got 3 dogs, and 2 of them are old (13 and 12). So I know my days of sadness are coming and it breaks my heart to think about it. They are all rescue dogs, so I'll take some comfort from the knowledge that I gave them a good home with lots of love.

We were fortunate to have located a Vet that specializes in end of life. I think she extended our beloved hound’s life by at least a year with meds. She does house calls for the euthanasia and takes care of all the post death arrangements making everything less stressful for our hound and us.
All our dogs have been rescued from shelters. We also have a severely abused chocolate lab that we rescued from a puppy mill at 5yrs old, she was a complete mental basket case. It took me over a year to get her to use the doggie doors to go outside to do her business on her own. She needed to be escorted, even in the middle of the night during snowstorms. The very first night (~3am) she went out on her own I went to the kitchen and cracked a beer to celebrate! My wife thought I was nuts. She is 12 now and never barks unless you are too slow to throw the ball and is the sweetest pup you can imagine. I thought she was mute the first year.
