    Great question!
I havent had to change it yet, i expect I will put a lid on it and store it in the corner of the shed for eons.

Used cooking oil might be a better idea, as it could be poured out somewhere and doesn't carry the environmental issues.

Maybe you can scoop the mice out and use them as fire starters. :D

I’d go all in with poison. You have to eliminate them for good. THEN I’d do all the screens etc. can I ask where you live?

My concern would be the urine. What’s your plan to deep clean the urine and poop. Isn’t mouse urine like really bad to breathe?

if its as bad as it sounds, id sell the car. Mouse urine can be toxic and Hantavirus is real. If the mouses were in my vents, i would be already heading to the dealership to sell it.

Oh my. I’m going to have to sell my house, sheds, cars, boat, motorcycles, snow blower, lawnmower and more since they all have mice.

Lost another air filter in the wife’s sienna. I guess it technically doesn’t count, but I’m expanding my kill perimeter, so might as well throw it on the count.

    3 mice
    7 chipmunks
    4 cabin air filters

@morfdq the infestations are too frequent to sell vehicles. It’s weekly. Cabin air filters are the best we can do. You’re right though, Hantavirus is no joke. We had a fatality in our county this year already from it. The good news is that the virus only lives for 4 days outside of the mouse.

I need to stop being lazy and block them out of the cabin air intake with heavy screen.

This is just crazy. I’m totally anti poison because it just kills owls, raptors, etc. But your situation sounds obnoxious.

    Good luck

Yeah, as much as poisoning sucks, it legitimately becomes an “us or them” situation when rodent-borne diseases are at stake. Those things carry ticks too.

That said, long term it’s probably best to change as much as you can in the immediate environment to make it less pleasant/riskier area for rodents.

There was a guy on the forum that was a falconer. Wonder if they hire out for rodent control lol.
