This must be a Pro skid plate problem??

The SR5 and OR skids have the hooks up front, which make them easy to reinstall. The Pro skid doesn't have the hooks, I'm assuming?

It is a bit of a struggle especially when sites like "Trail Grid Pro" & "Cali Raised Pro" websites claim their products fit 2010-2024 4 runners THEY DO NOT FIT all 4runners 2012 I can tell are different somebody who builds their sites is copy and pasting they still have not corrected the gas tank fitment skid plate i requested and sent photos finally gave up and will have to take bracket to metals shop to get modified. They're instructions are for 2014 & above, IMG_1605.jpg
the only mount to body is here on my 2012
    IMG_1606.jpg IMG_1607.jpg
too close to drive shaft for comfort their site shows bracket in opposite direction toward driver side, it won't go that way on a 2012!

I believe it's because the Pro was never a thought in the designers and engineers minds when the 5th Gen was developed. It was an afterthought and really everything about the Pro is port installed accessories.

On the 6th gen there is a bolt that stays in place that you can slide the skid off of so it can kind of hang in place while you add the other bolts.

    You are welcome sir!
This idea was tossed around and I was tired of playing the game of lining up all of the pieces to get the bolts started.
I’m glad it is being appreciated by the members that have decided take a little time and effort to do this mod.
    Have a great day!

Prepped, painted and installed the rear recovery points I picked up from @water a while back. My daughter brought them to Albuquerque on her latest visit from Portland. The PS threaded hole threads didn't need any chasing, although I did buy an M12 x 1.25 thread chaser. It threaded all the way in by hand.IMG_1011.jpg

Glad they worked out and will get some use!

Portland is getting that southern heat this week, 100deg for 5 days. I painted my skid plates and sliders this morning before the heat hit. Scrapes came from wheeling last weekend in the Tillamook State Forest. I was proud to see my 4Runner make it through a trail that a Toyota truck (heavily modded) on 40s had trouble with and an FJ80 on 35s could not complete. The trail was slick from light rain which completely changed everything. Looking forward to going out to the Cascade Cruisers Cruisin’ the Woods event at the end of September.

Also getting all the bits together to install an antenna mount and antenna for my Ham and GMRS radios. Will use my handhelds for now. On the fence for which radio will get permanently mounted as I use Ham in Oregon and GMRS everywhere else.

For your radios and where you want to mount them, if the mounting brackets are different, you could mount the two brackets with heavy duty velcro so they can easily be switched.
