Bought the fumoto valve and hose for my 22. Never installed it as I took the measurement of it and it came about a 1/4 inch from my RCI skid plate opening. Not an issue at all if you do moderate off roading but we are about to head out to Moab in 2 weeks. My fear was catching a perfect bolder and sheering it off. Probably wouldn’t have happened but you don’t know my luck.

    paid $42
Will sell for $35 (includes shipping)

Good call. For the way you use the 4runner, it’s really an unnecessary risk.

Even if there’s only a tiny chance it gets busted off, the consequences are pretty much catastrophic. Even more so if you’re in the middle of nowhere. But honestly, I don’t think it’s a tiny chance of happening if it’s that close to the skidplates. When you hit or drag skid plates, they flex, and not necessarily dent.

It doesn’t make sense to introduce a risk where none existed before, especially for the small gain in convenience (measured in seconds per 5000 miles).

AMEN. We are out in the wilderness camping etc. We are often in places where there is nobody around for miles, I have to eliminate all unnecessary risks
