Just wanted to post the new tires I replaced the Nitto Grapplers with that came on my 2023 4Runner. I got the vehicle with 37k miles on it and these tires were loud, rough riding and were unsafe in the rain as I was hydroplaning and sliding. I went to Discount Tire to have them check the tread wear and they said it was getting time to replace them. Wow, those tires don’t get many miles on them do they, but I’ve heard that about aggressive a/t tires. So I exhausted myself researching tires on here and elsewhere. I had narrowed it down to some Michelin a/t’s and Cooper ATP II’s. I wanted something that had that somewhat aggressive look but function wise I have no need for aggressive tires lol. I mostly do highway and local roads. I don’t even have 4WD. I wanted something safe on wet roads, smooth, quiet and fuel efficient and these and the Michelins were neck and neck in comparison, but these were a little cheaper. I ended up getting the Coopers put on Saturday and boy what a difference! Such a smooth and quiet ride but they look good, at least good enough for me! I also got to test them in water as Saturday I drove through a torrential downpour and they did awesome and no hydroplaning! Obviously I can’t say how they do on trails or in snow as I won’t be doing either most likely (I moved away from the snowy weather lol). I had read a post about a man’s wife wanting an aggressive looking tire as well but not needing them for anything but road driving (like me lol), so if that’s what you’re looking for, these are a great option. Time will tell how they wear but I’m very strict about keeping my tires rotated to get the most life out of them. So I’ll update in the future how they’re doing. Otherwise, I’m in love with my new to me 4 Runner and my new tires. It’s been so fun to drive. I’ve wanted a 4 Runner since I was 17 and at 48 finally got one. My son also has one and loves his.
