Hey guys, Just bought a 4runner 2020 TRD Offroad
Noticed that it has no DRL's looked on google seen that some 4runner have it on the light switch but I don't. Checked the fuse's under the hood this morning and seen the previous owner has a piggyback fuse installed going to the headlights. It's a single wire that plugs into a blue wire for the headlight assembly, then splits off to the other side headlight. The fuse location is a blank fuse , I've attached some photos for you to see what I'm talking about
    So questions I have are
1 - I don't see any difference with the lights in all settings when I move the fuse to power or no power, so what's the blue wire for?
    2 - Do all 2020 4Runners have DRL's?

Any help would be hugely apricated

Pic of the headlights for identification. Usually aftermarket headlights use the tap to run their own DRLs and it will call for tapping the ING fuse. What fuse is tapped in yours?

I don't think Canadian Runners have a DRL off option. What market is yours made for?

    Those must be aftermarket headlights.
They dont look OEM from the wiring.

    Those are aftermarket headlights
That wire is most likely for that LED brow across the top

They were all all built in Japan. Do you live in Canada or the US?

Looks like Morimoto headlights. The white eyebrows are your DRLs but that fuse location more than likely has no power. They eyebrows dim with the parking lamps of my Morimotos. They are brighter when you don't have the parking lamps on and are powered by that fuse tap.

    I'm in Canada
So the DRL's should work when the park brake is off? Because even if I put the piggyback to ign power those light don't come on until I switch on the side lights

So since you are in Canada you do not get a DRL off option. They should be on if that lead has power with the ignition on.

The fuse location that's tapped has no terminals for power. Generally you would want the INJ fuse but that can sometimes cause issues like for me it jumped out and I couldn't start the engine but just found it by checking the fuse tap.

the way to test real quick is to cut and strip the power wire and touch it to the positive battery terminal. They should come on, then you know it's the fuse location or not.
