Passed by a wreck, slowing traffic badly, after the fact yesterday on a highway near me. Two vehicles involved- one of those wanna-be a truck Honda Ridge Lines, and a 4Runner 40th Anniversary Special Edition, a black one. I could make out the tri-colored stripes and a bronze wheel on the T4R.

Both vehicles were destroyed really bad. Totals for sure. The 4Runner was creamed broadside by the Honda. From my best guess, someone ran their red light at that intersection. I counted 5 police cars, some fire trucks on the scene, and two ambulances. No fires though thank goodness. No wreckers were yet on the scene. One of the ambulances were just leaving with lights and "siren" blazing as I approached the site.

The two lanes of traffic going my direction were being let through slowly, while traffic coming from the other direction was at a standstill and backed way up. What a mess. Felt sorry for those involved.

And this is what we've become. Worried more about a special edition vehicle than the humans involved. There's a very good chance that the lives of all parties involved have been drastically changed forever. Fuck the 40th Anniversary Special Edition.

Hopefully the driver is ok. One less 1 of 7328074803926430298 40th anniversary Runners is nothing of value lost. I always though of it as a joke package.

I wouldn’t say I’ve become anything one way or the other. It was just an observation that I noticed. Not that I was sad or worried about the world losing a special edition 40th anniversary rig.

Because he can. Noting in his comments suggested he cared more about the 40th whatever over peoples lives. Just reporting what he saw and experienced with people he shares something in common with. No reason to be shitty about it, he felt bad as he stated.

Sorry Charlie. That idea sounds to be pretty uncouth to me. I’m not of the type who would stop to take pictures of a tragedy in progress, of someone else’s misfortune. I also had to keep my mind and eyes on the officers directing traffic through the partly blocked intersection.

Do you stop at every accident scene you roll by and check on the humans involved?
