I know they are 5 1/4" speakers in the rear but I want to put in 6 1/2" in place. I also know that I can use a ring to make them work, but the question I have is how deep of a 6 1/2" speaker will fit. The 6 1/2's that I'm looking at says that they are 3" deep and I don't want to buy them until I know they will fit. Does anyone have any experience with this?

There’s plenty of room for the depth of the speaker and magnet easily.
You should have no issues with interference.
