Nice. I had a 72 Cutlass. Bought a 360hp 455 out of a 68 Olds for $40 and about 40k miles. Bought front and rear springs and sway bars out of a 71 SS 454 Monte Carlo and went to town. Never had a good gear, but 20-120 mph was pretty awesome. The days when it was so simple.

I have a pedal commander on mine that helps, but even the old 4:10s would have been better than 3.72s. I think you could make 4:30s from Tacoma work. Might have to notch the rear housing a little. I installed a 88 Supra limited slip carrier in my 97 stump. Axle diameter input and seals might be different. If it works they usually keep using it as long as they can.

My last baby. I'm a truck guy. Started out on 70 Gran Prix dad bought new. Wish I still had that. Then 70 Chevelle, 72 Buick Gran Sport , etc. Then eventually Mopar. I like a Gran Sport really well. I liked GM but I never cared for Chevrolet. We could sit on the town square and do 25 donuts in each direction and be gone before the law got there in Lil Red. I had engine built in it. Couldn't blow it up.

That was probably before you may have been born and the county only had 4 patrol cars back then.

I may be missing the punch line, But my older Mercedes had a top load cartridge filter, Had a 27 mm top nut on the housing.

I think the comment went over my head, Been a long day.

We were. I saw the Oldsmobile and got lost. At my age all I can do is reminisce, stumbling and mumbling around. Sometimes I drive slow with my blinker on just because.

Oh yeah. My buddy had a 68 Cuda. The guy that built my truck engine has a 68 Hemi Cuda he bought new. One of 50 with no heater and the warning sticker in the door jam.

I think my 06 Ram was the last Dodge to use that filter or one close to it. I changed oil on a friends newer model and it had a little tiny filter.

Yeah, I meant other manufacturers have done it. BMW is another one I've heard of.

I think the German cars have been like that for a long time. I don't know why or when they changed it. I liked it myself. They used 5W-30 too. I still do in mine.
