Rear Hatch Window Template for Graphics

I am curious if anyone has - a tested - die-cut template for the rear hatch glass on a gen5 4Runner. I am doing some vehicle graphics for it and would find it to be very helpful! Cheers.

 

Sorry I can’t help, but welcome to the form. Interested to see what you come up with. If you own or have access to a 4Runner maybe a tinting shop could help with a template.

 

So, using some high-tech tools - tinfoil - I made myself a perfect template of the Gen5 rear hatch glass - here is a PDF for anyone else in need. Cheers.

 

Forgot to share this - here is the rear hatch graphic. I was concerned the application on the outside of the glass would cause an issue when dropping the window, but it fits like a glove and works like a charm!

I have installed it in two ways now: with the text "Jesus" on the outside of the glass and the rest of the art on the inside, and all of the art on the outside.

I did all of this printed as a clear static cling decal - amazing that it stays put with NO issue - and can be peeled off in seconds, then reapplied.

This is super easy to customize the color on. I drive a Gen5 LTD in Blizzard Pearl - so this is the combo I liked.

I’ve got a design sketched out already.

 

I am an illustrator by day - I draw such things on my Wacom digitally. I use vector-based software (Adobe Illustrator). This means the artwork can scale up and down infinitely, be easily customized, and printed, embroidered, stamped, vinyl-cut, laser-cut - whatever - on anything. By night, I do stuff like this for friends and family. Here are some slap stickers I have done recently. I can't imagine anything more fun than doing graphics for 4Runners as a side hustle... hmmm... if y'all are serious, hit me up with your ideas -

@IglooGurl Ive been known to dabble in the graphic arts myself. My first setup involved a Wacom tablet and stylus on the right and a Kensington trackball on the left. I would position the cursor with the stylus and then click with a button on the trackball. This made point placement very precise because points were placed without any movement of the stylus. Since then I have bit the bullet and gotten an iPad with a stylus. There’s definitely a learning curve shifting from the MacOS version of the software to the iPadOS version, but it’s worth it. Just my 2¢.
