I’m moving from Boston to Seattle in a few weeks and need to get my car shipped there. I’ve never used a car shipping service before, so I’m a bit lost. Anyone here had a good experience with a company they’d recommend? I came across A-1AutoTransport while browsing, but still not sure. Would like to hear some tips from your experience!

Bought truck in California, transported to Iowa. My experience:
Nearly all the companies I contacted were brokers, who then connected me with the actual transport companies. The seller of the truck was a dealer, they had contacts with two actual transport companies. Those direct contacts (one of which transported the truck) reduced costs quoted by brokers by a third.
My insurance company required transport company provide me copy of their current insurance/amounts and limitations (check dates of coverage or get the insurance binder directly from their insurer).
Also......take a detailed video or dozens of detailed pictures of the vehicle before/during loading (show transport truck/trailer/license plates/some way to document current date [newspaper?]) and inspect the heck out of it during unloading as once you sign off on the bill, you're accepting condition.
In the end, very good experience. Driver communicated daily, an hour out from delivery (they appreciate meeting at an area they can easily access - not a residential street). Ask for driver cell number at pickup - call him/her before departing to confirm.
