I absolutely love this thing. Coming from a 2021 F250 6.7L Diesel Fully loaded Tremor package, I wasn't 100% sure what to expect. Driving around Austin is sooooo much better. The quiet V6 is zippier than I thought. I like not having the TRD Pro exhaust. Its been Hot so the AC takes a little while to get rocking but with Ceramic i3+ window tint plus windshield and sunroof its much better. I haven't driven this thing out on i10 yet with speed limit of 80. Im sure I will notice the biggest difference of the engines then but so far I LOVE it. I'm extremely happy to have stumbled onto this particular Runner and sell my Ford truck at a great price vs put $5-6K of Preemptive work into my truck, just to wait and hold my breath on the fuel pump and transmission disasters waiting to happen.

Again without this forum, I might not have pulled the trigger.

Way to give into peer pressure. Be mindful of the mod bug and the "what have you done to your 4runner" thread, could cost you thousands.

Oh I have already been on the WHYDTY4runner Thread. It is already attacking me. I did make a discovery today and realized why it is "Zippier" than others I test drove. I found a Pedal Commander installed and the controller was attached underneath the stirring column. I just never looked under there. Anyway it was set to City or Sport mode. Sweet find since I was able to download the free APP and create an account and now have it adjustable on my cell.

Sucks spending the money but great being able to build exactly what you want. Do the research and then do some more. Try to buy and cry once.

    The mod bug is real

Coming from someone who is naturally cheap with vehicles (never spent more than $8k), it made front page news in my family when I bought my 2024 TRD ORP. I drove it off the lot and thought it was perfect as is and I wasn’t going to change a thing.

ok, maybe just the interior LED lights… This is a new vehicle and I don’t want to get cheap Amazon lights like I did in the past and went with Diode Dynamics. Now I needed upgraded DRL lights, foglights, reverse lights, turn signals, etc… to match. Ok, now the stereo is completely replaced, anytime camera installed, remote start installed, and I just bought a roof rack. Now I’m looking at suspension upgrades wondering how I got here.

    cheers

    Welcome!

I think the more mods you have, the less you'll reach for these keys when the other vehicle you have will do the job. Worse gas mileage, harder to park, etc. But this means the need for replacements will also be measured in years, not months. I agree, especially in a place like Austin where there's few places to recreate, the need to replace components will be way into the future. Even though the demands generated by a lifted 4Runner are decidedly greater (IMO) than on the stock ones.

By comparison my TRD Off Road Premium with KDSS is way too tempting to just get in and go places, and my miles are piling on fast - I'll need new shocks/etc. way before you will. Plus, in the Southern Appalachians there's simply way too many places to ride. My opinion, these things are pretty stout, even in stock form.
