    Team,

I lifted my runner 3 inch with the RC kit....they gave me only the 1/2 spacers for the diff drop and the bolts were same size as the originals.

Once installed, the bolt only tightened flush with the washer or almost flush....doesn't protrude at all
    Should I be concerned?

It was actually a diff drop kit for a Tacoma, but the RC rep told me they work for this 3 inch lift.

Seems to have taken pressure off the cv joints, so I'm a believer....

    Thanks for any help.

Welcome from Wisconsin! I was told once by a premiere fastener producer that a bolt should protrude about 1/2 the diameter of the bolt beyond a nut. There are times when I've put together things with the bolt only 1 thread beyond the nut. If it were me, I'd get some bolts that a tad longer, that's me and my 2 cents worth.

The diff drop is not needed. Just do the boot slide mod to prevent CV boot wear. The CV joints can mechanically accommodate the angles with no problems. 10 minutes in the driveway:

I had a diff drop and it came with extra length bolts. Removed lift and drop since.

Diff drops do nothing. Well that’s not true, they rotate the diff so the pinion angle is raised which causes some gear lube is pulled away from the pinion bearing.

    Hello,

Attached is the link to my thread which explains why I removed the spacer lift. :)

I just didn’t need a lift and 285’s for the off roading I do. That’s why I chose to go back stock. The juice wasn’t worth the squeeze for me.
