    Hello,

Looking for advice regarding intermittent issues with my driver's door window controls. The contacts tend to get a bit sketchy and this causes them to stop working or they only work intermittently.

In the past I'm disassembled the contacts and used a fine points file (remember those) to clean the contacts up and they works fine for years afterward. I just started having issues again so I wanted to ask how others deal with this issue? I assume new controls are unobtainium but I've not looked.

I'm also wondering if putting a thin coat of dielectric grease on the contacts might help after touching them up with a file? Under magnification it looks like some fine deposits build up on them, presumably from arcing during use, and this is the cause of the issue. I'm thinking the dielectric grease might prevent or slow the buildup of deposits. However I'm not sure if this might exacerbate the problem. Thanks!
