LOL But, But, what about our politically correct gas can ? Imagine the sales in gas cans now. Wonder if it would now be legal to vent the old cans ?

Throw it in the trash. I hate these compliance gas cans with a passion.

Can we repeal 10% ethanol mandate next? So we can get back long-storage gasoline in good cans back?

I've always believed that's the reason Iowa took over being the first State from New Hampshire for political campaigns. To get a "commitment" from politicians running for office the continued use for ethanol.

I did read where they have relaxed the mileage standards, but don't have any details.

Didn't they want to mess with cows and how their farts were contributing to Green House Gas (GHG) emissions?

What's really irritating is their hypocrisy, on one side they want to be green, yet they are happy to get on a plane and use Natural Gas at home. :angrygirl:

I’ve been using fuel containers labeled “for racing only” since the Obama administration’s legislation became the law. Those Rube Goldberg devices that we are supposed to use are inferior and only lead to fuel spillage and abject frustration..

Is it illegal to modify cans? I doubt the US EPA has robust enforcement against individuals if it is. I have vents installed on all of mine and have removed the sliding nozzle shut off thing and replaced it with a flex spout.

The metal "safety" can spills more fuel than anything else i own but i am required to use it in two of the big jobs i have. I have to buy those $90 metal cans that spill fuel everywhere because thats what the gobbermint wants me to use. I absolutely despise them and hope one day we can use a normal can with a spout that doesnt leak anything. Its actually unsafe to use a can that spills gas everywhere especially when refueling on a hot engine that you either just ran out of gas in, or are filling back up to keep running.

Well, the Trump Administration just now reversed the Obama era regulation. So we will likely see the old vented cans being sold on the market soon.

I have two Nato surplus cans with a vented spout that never spills a drop of fuel. Made the mistake of buying the useless EPA crap once and tossed it in the trash.

This is the solution. Even if it’s flamingly illegal it’s going to be more likely you’re picked up for being a certain complexion today than for having a non-compliant spout.

It’s hard enough enforcing on coal-rollers as it is but satisfying when it does come around.

I've done the same thing. The plastic 'safety nozzles' didn't make it 1 day at our place. Fill up a few 5-6 gallon cans for lawn mowers, pressure washer etc. and fight to gas 'em up? hell no!
