Well, I’d say a 2016-2024 Gen 5 in the SR5 trim would do the trick! Welcome to the forum!

Suggestions for a vehicle or trails near Chicago?

Would go with 5th Gen for a vehicle, trim would be what suits your needs the best. After getting that figured out, You can then start small and work up on your trails at your leisure.

As mentioned above, 5th Gen SR5 4wd.. i’m rolling in a 2018 bought it a couple years ago was 78,000 miles and I’m so happy with it. Do lots of desert trails like Mountain trails over landing and camping for me is the best rig for me I can sleep inside when I want bring all the gear that I need and very comfortable to drive on road and off-road very comfortable on long trips good luck on your search,IMG_5107.jpg

I live in Orland Park so not far from you. There are no nice off roading places here. There is a trail in galena that runs 300 miles up to Wisconsin but usually we head to Michigan.
