Heading east

We have lived on the Western part of the US all our lives. My daughter has bought a house in Virginia and wants us to move back there so she can take care of us in our golden years. Not sure we can live there, but, guess we are gonna give it a shot. The property is 88 acres with 2 houses on it and a stocked pond. Pretty secluded property and about 7 miles to a small town.

Welcome to the East Coast!

 

We signed the papers today and the property in Va is officially ours. We will be making a trip July 16th to stay a month. Taking our 5x8 trailer with a full load of furniture.

 

Grew up in Chesapeake/Virginia Beach area. You will enjoy it. Not too hot and not too cold.

Spare Parts, we are keeping our house in NM just in case it doesn’t work out. The new house came fully furnished, so, just taking some office furniture on this trip.

 

Where in VA, some drastic differences from the coast, the western mountains, Richmond and the "Dee Sleaze" area.

Congrats! We moved to KY from AZ 4 years ago and don't miss the heat, crime and all the people that moved there during covid. Looks like you have a little piece of Paradise. Hopefully good internet service!!!! You will have a true 4 Seasons also!

 

Secluded = Perfect! This looks like a version of what retirement dreams are made of. We too live in a fairly secluded area, wife retired, I have a year left to retirement. Does it look like your work load may increase with that beautiful property? It would be well worth it if it does, Best of luck on your move, enjoy your slice of heaven.

 

Charlievee, about 18 miles from Charlottesville near Schuyler and Esmont. My daughter got her law degree from UVA and loves the area.
