Hey guys new member here I'm having a fuel system issue with a 1998 2WD V6 I was driving about 40 last week and noticed it becoming sluggish and then I heard a pop and then it started running fine again. Over the next few days it's become erratic when I start it The RPMs would jump up to 1.5 K and then back down to around 700 and start misfiring. Hardly any pick up at all. I thought I might've got some bad gas so started replacing things I started with the fuel filter spark plugs wires and now I'm onto injectors that I'll do in the morning. I noticed when I took my intake manifold off that there was raw gas in the throttlebody and dark material inside the Plenum upper and lower. Any thoughts? Someone told me the FPR might be going bad but the raw fuel stumped me. Any help would be appreciated!

Do you have access to OBD2 code reader? Their program can usually also watch operating parameters in real time.
Fuel excess must be from injectors. Can you smell fuel under open hood with engine running?
    Is there soot in tailpipe?
Have you considered removing spark plugs to inspect for wetness in a particular cylinder?
