    New to the forum and wondering if anyone has changed the vacuum switching valve and any things to be careful of or straightforward
    Is that the correct name for the part below

    That's the heater control valve, just drain some coolant out before you disconnect the hoses

    Welcome.
    That part is all plastic and may crack off inside the hose.
    It may be prudent to have an extra length of hose available.
