More light. Someone posted a video of this mod, it adds a lot more light to the sides of the truck and basically gives it a flood pattern to the front, but Ican'tfind that video. There are several rural areas where I live with a lot of deer. We were driving last week and my wife spotted one on her side, I wasn't driving fast, luckily, and several ran out in front of us when I slowed down. It would have been nice to have the extra light.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

This is what I did and I like how much extra light I got: I swapped out the turn signal for a very bright LED/Switchback. The stock turn signal is a bulb. A freakin' 5 watt orange bulb. I love how my head lights look now after I made the change. The best part, the added side coverage from the LED. It lights up bright white when it's not being used as a turn signal.

You should check with the laws in your state, it may not be legal. We live in a rural area, and the stock headlight/fog light combo have always provided adequate lighting to spot venison on the hoof, we don't drive too fast either. Don't hit the deer!

Nope. It changes the light pattern for the side, not oncoming. So, they sort of act like ditch lights, but they aren't. Well, it may be too bright for oncoming traffic, but nobody has flashed their brights at me or given me the finger...yet.

They dont produce any more light than the low beams and there isn't more forward light, so no annoyance to oncoming traffic.

That's good to know. Now I'll have to do other things to be an annoyance to others in traffic. I will not give up so easily!

I would, but the conditions of my parole state that I cannot associate with degenerates and undesirables. I'm also not allowed with 100yards of an FAA building.

I've always wanted to do this mod, I was going to justify it as "chaser/safety lights while on the trail", but the truth is, I would be a dick and use them to blind drivers who tailgate me when it's dark out.

The lights wouldn't be good year round because we get 7-ish months of Summer in Texas, which means the sun is up from 7am - 9:30pm.

They assist when i "back down trails at night" and i have covers for them so i wont be a total fool, some states require them anyway. Light to 9:30 must be sweet.

Get some diode dynamics fog lights. They're all great and will give you the extra light you're looking for. Lots of info on the forum. I have the SS3 pros and they're awesome. Better than the OEM high beams. The SS3 sports have a better cut off than the pros but won't melt snow if that's an issue for you.
