Me too. Have always have great experiences from Home Depot & it's closer to me. Lowe's hosed me several years ago on a dishwasher delivery . I only bought it there because HD didn't carry Bosch.

A nice feature on the Gobi is that you can keep the feet connected to the roof and then just remove the rack from the feet by unscrewing a few bolts. This way you don't have to worry about un-waterproofing anything.

It only takes a few minutes to take off......but it's a bit of a pain in the ass with it being big, heavy and awkward. Definitely need 2 capable people for the job.

Part 2, Ring and pinion swap:
I had a "minty" 8" clamshell fall into my hands and have been chipping away at finishing my ring and pinion swap. A few more pieces to install, including the ECGS clamshell bushing, and it will be ready for installation.

I lost 3 of them in 1 month. When the older one died, the two younger ones killed themselves by giving up eating.
Took me 7 years before I could even think of getting another. I still haven't.
You are correct, it's never easy.

The carbon fiber valances are available through Yota Expeditions. They’re also available in black or topography.

Impulsively decided trade my 2023 TRD Off Road. Thankfully these 4Runners keep their value.
Found a 2024 Terra TRD Pro with 5,200 miles for an amazing price. Was used as a Toyota Corporate vehicle, mostly used as demo vehicle at shows.
Kept my 40th Anniversary Bronze Wheels and 285 BFG Tires. Also, added the Bronze 40th Anniversary overlays. I really Dig the Bronze accents.

This hits me hard. We put our boy Charlie down (10 years old - hemengiosarcoma, mass on spleen) over 16 months ago and there hasn't been a day I haven't thought about him or talked about him. Dogs are really the best part of life and the pain you are feeling now is still worth it for all the joy he brought you his entire life. I'm sorry for your loss.

It was over the course of two days but I am going to count it. I got my C4Fabrication ladder installed along with some heavy duty struts (for medium loads according to liftsupportdepot). I also got my propane tank mounted and installed on my spare tire with the Rock Slide EZ Tire Mount. The propane mount I purchased from Etsy, after searching the internet and not seeing anything that was reasonably priced or designed to my liking.

I have rotopax mount bracket and two additional steps coming for the ladder, and I already have a 2 gallon water canister and a locking rotopax mount sitting at the house. This setup will give me the ability to carry 4 gallons of water and 6 gallons of fuel for my longer 10 day overlanding trips.

The propane tank is for my tripod torch fire pit as I cook with my 1930’s Coleman liquid fuel stove. The C4 ladder is more for storing water on the outside of the vehicle (and widdle wadder memes) then it is for climbing on top of the 4Runner, though the ladder is more than stout enough to accomplish such goals. The only real downside of the ladder is how close the rungs are to the lift gate sheet metal so I have to be careful not to kick the car. I will probably use it to help open and close my roof top tent but that’s about it as far as climbing on the ladder goes.

Now I am just waiting on my shower tent from Taruca USA to arrive so I can free up some more space in the 4Runner.

I had to build out the enclosure about 2 1/2” so the sub would clear. I made 3 trim rings out of mdf and glued them to the enclosure

Got Casper good and washed yesterday. No pics (sorry gents and ladies). Got him good and cleaned off (about a 8 months worth of dirt built up). Then God said, "I gotchya." And it rained last night for about 30 mins. Gotta love summer popcorn thunderstorms.

Luckily, not all my efforts were in vain. Casper is still clean, but next time, I got stuff to clay bar and throw some shine on the wheels .

I haven’t taken in on any long trips yet, but I hit up a near by trail that requires 4low, is steep, rutted out, and fairly rough in general, along with a trip on the freeway and it didn’t budge. I am going on a 10 day overlanding trip here shortly so I will report back after that trip.
