Door handle…

Does anyone know how the inside of this works. I can’t open my door. It got hit by a deer and the deer took the handle with it, but also the child lock was on so there’s no way to open it from the inside….. any insight would be appreciated!

 

Do you have a local locksmith you can try? They seem to be able to open all sorts of locked doors...

If the child lock was on, you can open maybe with an o-ring puller. or a small hook or L-shaped tool. You insert it into the hole on right and hook the inside puller mechanism. Ask me how I know.

You probably don't have to do this if the inside mechanism works, just pull from inside. it's easy to replace after you remove door card.

Yours looked mangled though so all the wire pullers are located about where that dent is. With a little google foo, you should be able to determine next steps. Looks like a body shop would be mine, unless you are buying and mounting a replacement door, which is a two man job.
