I just pulled my old Air Mass sensor (4R idles poorly), feels like it's going to bog when stopping. The prior owner had a new unit, same as the old with the exception of the sensor that extends down from the inter body. The old was cylindrical and the new is cone shaped sticking down.

The new one will not even let me fire it up and give it throttle. It's starving for air right away. Note the old one had the factory set screw cover cut open and adjusted. The new one has the metal seal over the screw?

I'll try the old one again tomorrow, but anyone else have issues after changing there's?

Unit is number 8 on the air box parts diagram

Are you using an OEM MAF sensor?

Not 100% sure, but I'd say it's most likely China made. The linited parts I have found (except KYB steering stabilizer) were from China. I'm pulling the new one today, installing the old one (I'm sure it's stock) and get it running. Seller had the part in a box. Tried to post photo, but couldn't figure out how to.

Note I'm in Central America so finding parts, any parts is an ordeal. You basically take what you can find. I can't find window motors (no AC it's a must to get them working properly) here and no such thing as mail or shipping unless business to business (not to individuals) via Miami and 20 days or more plus taxes and import fees. I'm told locally, to drive the 8hrs to San Jose and maybe a parts house may have them. Or can order for me and then have to drive back again to pick it up in a month. It's crazy down here trying to complete normal functions that in the States would be same day. If a buddy flys down in mid-July I'm begging him to fill a suitcase and bring it. But I hear they can nail ya at the airport and want receipts and will try to charge tax/import fees. We'll see
