Looking to upgrade the car audio. I'm considering between two base options.

    1) Skar Subwoofer box with 12" Kicker Shallow Mount Sub, $573.95 combined cost, or

    2) JL Audio Stealthbox with 10" JL sub at $1,700.

Of course I'd like to go with the Skar Kicker setup, did that in my Taco and it sounds great. However in this instance the Skar is designed for the Driver's side and covers up the access panel for the jack. The JL Stealthbox appears to be on the Passenger's side which wouldn't have that issue. But DAMN the price at nearly 3X!

For those who have the Skar box, what did you do with the jack?

I don’t know for sure but I’n sure the Skar box has some kind of release like my OEM Audio + system has. The JL is just cleaner and you get to keep your tie down points.

I went with the skar. 10" punch p3 shallow mount. It is amazing. I threw my jack in my bin with recovery gear, jumpers, etc. I love it!20250619_212340.jpg

If you have a 12 , it won't hit as hard. But it does kick good.

I think adding an 8 under the seat would amplify any missing body trembling that you're searching for

    The suv is so big

It is perfect for me. Before I bought the Skar, my buddy installed a ported box with 12" jl sub in his GX and it was way too much bass.

So I went with this set up. It doesn't take much to feel it in my seat, but it wont rattle my doors off either. I keep the bass knob about 1/2 for most music
