    just bought a 1994 4Runner SR5, 3.0, manual, 4wd.
seller said truck ran, said clutch was spongy as were the brakes. well the clutch just went to the floor with no resistance and didn't return. bought it anyway, engine looks stock and complete I pulled the plugs and 1,3 & 5 look good tan color, 2, 4 & 6 dirty and kinda black #1 plug had oil on the outside coming from somewhere. next step is checking whats up with the clutch petal the hydraulic reservoir has fluid. the seller said he thinks the previous owner had the engine rebuilt but didn't put new bolts in the head, I belive these are stretch to torque and should be used only once, I don't want to do a head gasket job but don't know how to verify this. there is no water in the oil but engine wasn't ran so water may be in the bottom of the pan...
well the truck has around 250k miles but seats are very nice condition and overall the truck seems to be in fair shape, it was hit on the front drivers side it has a replacement fender but still needs to have the front metal straighten as the last hole for the fender mount doesn't line up and the rad is not straight with the fan about 1in on the fender and 1/2 in on the fan so don't think will be hard to fix.
well if anyone can tell me why spark plugs on one bank are bad would help, also any ideas on the clutch linkage is there a switch that allows the engine to turn over?

Hello all, its been a little hot 109 to be outside working on the truck, but I did find a problem with the clutch... the master cyl shaft is broken so gonna replace it today and try to align the safty switch as it is not being pushed. I hope I don't have to remove the petal assy but will see, its gonna be a work in progress.
