    I often sleep in the back of the 4R and think it would be great if I could unlatch the rear door/hatch from inside the vehicle. From looking over the owners manual and searching here, it appears that it is impossible without rewiring something. Is that correct?

    there is a non-electric mod for having a pull string to unlatch from the inside. there are many different posts.
