I am going to be adding a switch to my runner to control some multi function leds I’m adding as chase lights.

I am looking for resources to help me understand the best way to bring the needed power to my switch. I do not want to cut/tap/or splice any factory wire.
These are the options I think I have.
1-find an ignition controlled fuse to wire from. Not sure how to do that yet.
2-find a way to add a jumper to an existing rocker switch.

    Any other options?

I am also looking for any resources on how to install a rocker switch that is too big. Basically, I can only find the switch I need/want in tall size, and it is my understanding that the runners use the short version. My switch should allow me to change the pattern of the leds, and I cannot find a switch that does this in short.

If you have any pics or information on how the factory switches are wired/connected, that would be an added bonus.

feel free to add resources, I’m looking to make this as clean an install as possible.

Air On Board (AOB) https://www.aironboard.com/online/ has a wide variety of switches that fit the 4Runner.

Depending on your application, you might be better drawing power directly from the battery (properly fused), but controlling it with a relay that, in turn, is controlled by a switch on the dash.

The infotainment circuit is a good source for "ignition sense" voltage.

Use wiring of sufficient gauge to handle equipment power requirements. In my application for communication and charging (in cab), I used 10 ga stranded wire from the under hood relay fed thru the firewall grommet, and run under the driver side door molding to a distribution block (with each sub-circuit fused) mounted under the driver side seat. For radio equipment, this gives cleaner power (less noise) than tapping power inside the cab.

Thanks for your reply, the project is on hold for a few weeks, got a 3 week road trip planned. Once I get back, I’ll dig in again.
